I love your analogy with martial arts. Definitely a good approach, though tbh I still get sucked into a downward spiral of anxiety despite years of meditation. Your post was a great help, thank you
I am so glad I was able to offer a bit of help. That fills my sails with gratitude. Marital arts is rich with lessons, and I'm sorry to say I haven't trained in years! Anxiety is a tricky indeed. I have come to believe it's a human condition, but varies in its intensity from person to person. From my experience meditation calms it down, but a meditation practice seems to take root with study and contemplation. (Two wings of a bird-- study and practice allows us to fly.)
