Thank you, Swarna. Sometimes it's nice to dive into these kinds of traditions and enjoy the magic! I hope the similar celebration in India this year was wondrous, and maybe with some special treats.

Very interesting, Renee. I have to admit that I associate Halloween with over-priced rubbish in supermarkets and horrible children demanding money with menaces, but you have given me much to ponder on -- as ever!

LOL! I've just now come back around to appreciating little monsters demanding candy. For years I kicked Halloween to the curb. I've enjoyed it this season. Probably in large part due to my husband growing me a pumpkin patch, for I love all things pumpkin. Although all the stores are decked out for Christmas weeks too soon and I'm grumpy about it.

I have not yet reached that state of enlightenment. I think they should be thrown in jail for extortion. But only for an hour or so. I'm very liberal like that.

This section particularly stuck.

Stepping off the comfortable path, we risk pain, but oh, we discover treasures! Nothing in my life that is the most meaningful has come to me because I stayed on a path, afraid to venture into the woods. Only when I brazenly step off old paths do my treasures come rushing to me, like long-lost friends.
